Quick answer: There is no single reliable price for every Nigeria-to-Canada shipment. The quote depends on the contents, packed weight and dimensions, transport option and delivery scope. Ask for a current written quote and check which destination charges are included. Tianah does not publish a public rate card.
Start with a quote-ready cargo list
Prepare the package count, measurements, weight, item descriptions and destination address. If the goods are not packed yet, say the dimensions are estimates. A revised final size can change the assessment, so avoid treating an early figure as a confirmed booking price.
For food or specialist cargo, provide the product details before comparing rates. A low price is irrelevant if the product is not accepted on that service.
Ask how the size is charged
Transport space matters as well as physical weight. Ask which measurement method applies and whether a minimum charge is used. Do not apply a dimensional-weight divisor found online unless it matches the actual service quote.
Illustrative packing example: a carton measuring 50×40×30 cm occupies 60,000 cubic centimetres; 50×40×20 cm occupies 40,000. This shows why excess packaging space can matter. It is not a Tianah billing formula or a promised saving.
Compare the same endpoints
Write the origin and destination at the top of each quote comparison. Is the shipment collected at your address, or do you drop it off? Does delivery reach the Canadian address, or does the recipient collect it elsewhere?
Ask about packing and special handling. A quote that includes those tasks should not be compared with a transport-only number as if they are the same product.
Separate freight from import charges
Customs-related costs need their own check. CBSA's mail and courier guidance explains that duty and tax treatment depends on the circumstances. Do not assume the freight price settles every charge.
Ask the provider to identify included, excluded and not-yet-confirmed costs. The person paying should know when a payment might be requested and who will explain it.
Use a comparison sheet
Create columns for provider, accepted cargo, package assumptions, transport, collection, delivery, separate charges, estimate and quote validity. Leave unknown cells marked unknown; do not fill them with optimistic guesses.
If one quote appears much lower, ask which stage or charge differs. A useful comparison is transparent about uncertainty and the actual work being purchased.
Reduce avoidable cost without weakening preparation
Remove unnecessary items before packing and use packaging appropriate to the contents. Ask whether consolidation makes sense if several purchases are involved. Plan early enough to compare options rather than accepting an urgent arrangement by default.
Never reduce the declared value or misdescribe the goods to make a quote look cheaper. Keep the final inventory accurate and ask for a revised figure when the shipment changes.
What to send Tianah
Send the contents, destination postcode/address, origin, package count, packed dimensions and weight, and desired date. Ask for the service inclusions in writing. That gives you a price you can assess against the actual shipment rather than a headline rate without context.
Frequently asked questions
Is there a fixed cost per kilogram?
Tianah does not publish a universal rate. Request a quote for the actual cargo and package measurements.
Is doorstep delivery always included?
Check the written scope. A transport quote may end before final delivery.
Can smaller packaging reduce cost?
It may change the chargeable size, but protection and acceptance still matter. Ask for the applicable calculation before expecting a saving.
